You know the basic rules when starting a company…never go into business with friends; make sure you're not under capitalized; don't enter a saturated industry; don't try to reinvent an established way of doing business…

Well, Vantage Hospitality broke all of these rules and developed its own set, which have revolutionized the lodging industry. We started with a group of friends, with very limited capital, and decided to launch a hotel brand in an industry with more than 80 national hotel chains. Plus, we threw out all of the antiquated franchise guidelines and developed our innovative Freestyle Membership Model, which allows our owners to be In Business for Themselves, Not by Themselves.

And, just nine years later, Vantage's brands, Americas Best Value Inn and Lexington Collection, are now industry leaders and have broken all major records for growth. So much for the rules.
