For Vantage Hospitality, public service isn't a PR ploy, it's part of the corporate DNA. Since 2005, Vantage's corporate team, members and vendors have worked together to support the Children's Alcohol, Rehabilitation & Education (C.A.R.E.) organization.
Under the direction of Dr. Barry Boatman, C.A.R.E. specializes in drug and alcohol treatment for adolescents who are wards of the court and/or abused, abandoned or neglected. C.A.R.E.'s operation is dependent upon monthly payments by the State of California, as well as donations from the public.
A bulk of Vantage's fund-raising efforts takes place during its annual conference, as thousands of dollars were collected during a series of charity golf tournaments. In 2008, the first-annual C.A.R.E. Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament raised $40,000, which will help create Vantage Ranch, a C.A.R.E. shelter in a rural California town.
Writing a one-time check would have helped these children in the short term, but by providing support over a long period of time, we will be able to help many more children now and in the future," said Vantage President & CEO Roger Bloss.
